Sweden

When I see a record coming from Canada it always make me curious, beacuse it's very often high quality stuff that comes from that big country. And this is no exception. Richard Addison is a musician who's played with the prog band Mystery and he's the founder of the Jazz-Rock band Sojourn, he produced their first album. Richard also composed music for television as well as being an music arranger for several singers. On his latest work "Mood Swings" Richard demonstrates his strong composing approach and certainly creates many kind of mood's which will not leave any Prog and Progressive Fusion fans indifferent at all. With him is a 11 piece big band with excellent musicians (for example electric violin). Musically it can be compared to fusion period Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra (lots of violin!) and Weather Report. Or why not later Isildur’s Bane!

One of the best instrumental album's so far this year, probably the best, my advice is buy it, it's great stuff.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The missing piece  (June 2004)
